This is such an easy project that would be perfect for giving to teachers, friends, family members, and of course, Valentines! **No sewing machine is required for this tutorial!**
I am participating in Ellison Lane's Valentine Blog Hop today. Enjoy the tutorial!
Supplies needed:
Needle and thread (Sewing machine is not required for this tutorial, but it is handy)
Scrap fabrics
Stabilizer
Fabric marker
Pinking shears
Polyfil
Suckers
Ribbon
Computer + printer
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Place a sucker on top of your fabric facing right side up. Trace a heart around the sucker using a fabric marker.
To sew your heart, place main fabric right side down, then stabilizer, followed by the back piece. Sew the heart making sure you leave enough opening for the sucker and polyfil to slide in.
After placing the sucker and polyfil inside, hand sew the hole shut. Using pinking shears, cut along the outline of the heart. I cut mine about 1/4" from the seam line.
I used a font I own, and printed it out to a size that was appropriate for the sucker and legible reading. I cut it out, punched a small hole, threaded the ribbon through, and tied it to the sucker.
