toilet paper roll . . . art?

i thought these little rolls were pretty cool. i found the post via Pinterest.   I Waste So Much Time is where i got a few of the photos.  i do not know who the original artist of these paper rolls is because the authors of that site collect things they like on the web.  there is a lot more to see by clicking the link!  enjoy!

woodecklaces

I'm positive you all knew that was short for wood and necklaces.

I hate Mondays.  I enjoy the weekends so much I don't want it to end.  I spent this past weekend cutting and tearing apart wood.  I had no clue what I was getting myself into until this weekend.  About a month ago I picked up pallets by myself and hauled them to our carport.  I am making a pallet wall for Owen's room.

Yeah, I'm soooo last year.

I am definitely intrigued by these pallet walls I have seen in the past year.  To me, they are amazing.  I'm sure you have seen these walls too.

My pallet wall will be placed right here.  I really don't want the wood to be dark or warm colored, so I will have to do a lot of whitewashing.  A L-O-T.

And here are the pallets I worked through over the weekend.  If anyone ever tells you this was easy, they are lying.

Wish me luck (and strength and energy and carefulness and time and a table saw (we don't own one)) on this project because I am going to need it!!

So this is where woodecklaces come into play because pallets and necklaces are so random for one post.
I mentioned awhile back about the Random Tutorial Generator (uh, why did I not think of this first???) and stumbled upon these adorable nest necklaces.  Call it hormones or call it motherhood, but I swear I fall for more sentimental items now that I have had a child.  Three beads in a wire nest wouldn't mean that much to me 10 years ago, but now, I want to make one!  Sarah, from Sarah Ortega Photography, shows you how to make your very own nest necklace.  I know many of you are crafty, so will you be making one of these soon?

Sarah also upcycled one of her necklaces, which looks fantastic! (And she shows you how make the rosette)

Make sure you check back this Wednesday for a fabulous GIVEAWAY for your home!
